It is one beautiful day out there! I'll cautiously say that spring is finally here but we do live in the prairies -- a snow storm could be on it's way too! Either way, I'm in a better mood today than I've been in a long time, and it feels good.
Our house sold on the weekend. I must have talked about this in the past, I really can't recall and I'm too lazy to go back and check. Anyway, whether you want to call it down-sizing, separation, relocation . . . whatever it will be, selling the house was the first step. I feel awesome that it's going to good people. People that seems to care about things and that will maintain our house the way we've done over the past 5 or so years. When you build something up and put your blood, sweat and tears in it, and keep it in good shape, you like to see it stay that way. It will age gracefully I'm sure but good help isn't a bad thing!! The only sad part is that we're leaving behind a dream we had together . . . but I have confidence that better things are to come.
My husband still hasn't indicated where he's going with his life. If he doesn't know, I guess he'll soon have to decide, since the possession date is about 5 weeks away. That isn't a long time to pack up your belongings, never mind your marriage! I just took a huge sigh . . . . such a shame that we couldn't stay in the house, yet I know it's for the best. Now I'm quite excited to get on with the future!! New challenges always light my fire.
For now it seems that I have a standing offer to live in my parents cabin until I find a place to live, and that includes my whole family if needed. My husband usually doesn't initiate conversations so I'm waiting for when he'll actually ask if he's included in that, or if he'll make just another assumption . . . the assumption that he's not included. He always takes that stance first, he doesn't ask or take the optimistic version that I'd want him to come along . . . he just assumes and lets it go that way. Lately he's changing though, so I hope he doesn't do that this time. I never assume -- I may talk too much sometimes, but I'd much rather do that and know where I'm going that let life and the wind blow me around. I can do that with some things but marriage is a choice!!!! Love is a choice too, and for some silly reason I'm still choosing him. It makes my eyes burn but it's just the way it is.
So this starts another chapter in our lives. I think it's going to be awesome either way, I can't wait to see how it turns out! Lots of beautiful days are ahead.
